The underlying atmosphere of this album is of a dark sonic and cinematic journey, both spiritual and physical, from dark into light. We wanted to show the girls, the morning after, squinting into the bright light and exploring alien environments. We researched and scouted urban and rural shoot locations that would provide dramatic landscapes and intriguing dreamlike colours and in the end focused on Dungeness; an eerie, baron expanse of desert-like vistas on the south coast - it’s Settler-style architecture giving it a mysterious Plains Drifter wilderness look and feel. We commissioned experimental image maker Maria Mochnacz to shoot the campaign and her collection of customised, vintage cameras and different film stocks added an edgy, psychedelic rawness to the story.
