Commissioned by Liberty to design the collateral for an exhibition to launch their new men’s classic tailoring department, we were subsequently given a tour of Savile Row as part of our research and development. After experiencing a rare insight into the back rooms and basements of The Row we were inspired by the craftsmanship and hands-on detail that still forms the heart of bespoke tailoring even in these times of mass production. We created a simple graphic interpretation of the Liberty logo chalked out on a piece of rich purple Liberty fabric, with secondary text inspired by the hand painted gold leaf signage seen on the windows of the Savile Row tailors. The invitation was a folded A3 poster printed in 1 colour and foiled in gold.
